Fieldwork based in Kenora region (Manitou), ON (14 days in, 7 days off)
80%; Office work (site complex trailer): 20%.

The preferred applicant will:
Develop, implement and evaluate health and safety programs at work, including HMI’s prevention program;
Run joint health & safety committee and ensures that all other required safety meetings are held in a proper manner;
Prepare and animate daily tailboard meetings every morning on-site;
Oversee the safety of workers on-site based Kenora region Manitou, ON;
Manage first aid requirements for injured workers;
Inspect workplaces and prepares daily inspection reports while keeping superior informed;
Consolidate and keep up-to-date material and safety data sheet (MSDS) records on-site;
Implement tag out / lockout and confined space procedures;
Complete accident reports for the WSIB;
Monitor the work environment, do regular rounds, apply property regulations relating to the internal and external traffic.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience
Successful candidates must have:
CSO certifications and experience working with ISO 9001 certification;
5 years’ experience in industrial construction;
Familiar with civil work, structure erection, architectural work, industrial mechanic, industrial electricity and concrete work, as well as crane lifting processes;
Available to work on a fly-in-fly-out schedule (5 days in, 2 days off);
Labor relations expertise.
Excellent, oral and written communications skill (ability to lead meetings);
Analytical, organization skills and attention to details;
Works inter-dependently — enjoys working with little or no supervision;
Able to instill H&S culture on the worksite by coaching team in that direction;
Attention to detail, proactive, ability to negotiate.
