The Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities is a combination of three existing agencies of Housing New Zealand, HLC and KiwiBuild doing amazing work. The Project Manager would be delivering planned volume programmes that reside under the individual regional workstreams. Working in a matrix organisational structure, where the accountability for the planned work programme resides with the respective delivery Programme Manager.

Job Responsibilities

The applicant will:

Manage projects with the ability to prepare comprehensive and robust project plans which identify project risks and mitigation strategies;

Work on the delivery of high volume work activities;

Assist with property maintenance or minor capital upgrades.

Skills & Experience

Successful candidates should have:

Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience, ideally in construction;

Project Management qualification, preferably Prince 2;

Demonstrated experience working in the property or construction industry.

Job-Specific Skills

Analytical, organization, project/ management & negotiation skills;

Good knowledge of MS Office Suite;

Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in plain language;

Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills;

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships through consultation and partnership.
